Week 68

(Week 15 Rome)

Family and Friends, I am sorry but I really only have a paragraph in
me this week.

Highlight: President Nelson came!!! He talked for an our just about
the Abrahamic Covenant. To be honest I was kinda like.., what? Nothing
about missionary work? Well, we are all definitely studying more about
this topic in free time and the role we have in this. He also told us
he read all four standard works in two weeks. Yes, he is a prophet of
God. Other speakers talked about how little time we have until the
second coming and that Italy is going to see many things so we are all
excited with a new sense of urgency! Overall super great and spirit
filled conference!!!!

Work is going well, we have been blessed to find
a couple cool families!

Okay maybe two paragraphs...
We went to find an inactive woman and ran into a member Martin our
way. He came with us and the woman wasn't there but the son gave us
her number. Anywho, we noticed two little girls playing outside and we
rang the other doorbell and this family totally let us come in and
teach them!!!!! Soooooo cool and Martin got to bear testimony in
Spanish to this family from Guatemala!!!! Miracles are real!!!!

Ciao! Sorella Nelson

When you run out of other noodles you use the lasagna noodles for pasta....

Turned out quite nice!!

You can't tell from this poor picture but it is at night with a street covered in cigarettes... I will probably permanently smell like a cigarette...

Mailing postcards home.

Slanting walls as we climbed to the top of the Vatican.

Looking out at all of Rome from the top of the Vatican.

A dear member from my first area in Caserta!!  He and his family were baptized during my second week in the mission.  Love this Vernazzani family!

Found Gaetano reading in the park!

One of my favorite youth in the ward!  Madelyn!

Week 67

(Week 14 Rome)

Very Content I Am....
This week has just been a good solid week. You know those weeks that
weren't crazy but weren't amazing but they were just good and
satisfying? That was this week. Good and satisfying!
Quick Investigator update:
Gaetano: going strong but has kinda hit a block in his road to
salvation. Tithing... He is facing a LOT of financial problems and he
just doesn't believe he can do it. We have called a couple brothers in
the ward that know him and they have agreed to pray for him with us.
We know he can do it! We are now just focusing on building up his
faith in the Atonement. Bravo bravo...

Daniela: the cousin of a less active member Raquel. She is absolutely
golden and so much fun to teach! We saw her for the second time on
Sunday! We were going to see her cousin and we couldn't get ahold of
Daniela to come to but while we were waiting to go inside and going
over our lesson plan she showed up right behind us and we all went in
together! Huge Miracle and she just is so excited to read and come to
church. Towards the end of her lesson we were setting up another
return appointment and she just kept saying, "it's so nice to be
around them! They just shine with Christ!" Yes. She is the best.

Raquel and cousin Daniela!

We ran into a past investigator Zinaida! She was the one who came
drunk to a lesson. We hadn't seen her since so it was nice to see her
and clear things up. She just kept saying over and over that she had
reason. Haha yes, God knows what he is talking about. Anywho, we had a
lesson right outside of the metro station about change and our closing
prayer was absolutely wonderful. Both Sorella Cardullo and I said
afterwards that it didn't feel like we were outside, it seemed quiet
and like we were the only three people there. The spirit is real!

Cool bus experiences:
1. We were teaching the restoration to an African man on the bus in
English and he ended up not being super into what we were saying but
as I looked to my other side a girl named Eleonora was looking at us
and asked if we could explain everything again in Italian. Uh....
YES!!! Haha she is sooo cool and super excited to get a Book of Mormon
this next week! YOU NEVER KNOW WHO IS LISTENING!
2. Bus ride home we noticed a man was just watching us so we asked how
his day went and etc. His name is Ali and when we asked if we could
come teach his family he said, "Of course! Whenever you want!" Haha I
probably just had my mouth hanging wide open from shock of how easy
that was. Haha buses are great!

This week is going to be the fastest week of my life! Right now we
have 7 Sorelle in our house till Thursday when we have a big mission
conference with President Nelson!!!! Wednesday night we have another
conference just at our church with the members! We are SOOOOOO
EXCITED!!!!!!!

Tante belle cose!

Went out to eat with the other Sorelle!

Eating pesto pasta with pine nuts.  When you put your finger in your cheek like this is means 'buono".

A rainy day in Rome.

The Scala Santa holy stairs

A prayer is said on every step and you have to climb it all on the your knees.

The famous statues of the twelve apostles.

Cutest little gelato shop that's famous for it's pistachio gelato.  The whole store was decorated with "pistachio" green decor.

Happy birthday to our dear Sorella Adamson!
